Throughout the history of Evergreen Community Church, God has been on the move. It has been Evergreen-Bloomington’s privilege to be in the forefront of expanding God’s Kingdom in the south metro for almost 20 years, implementing a church model friendly to visitors that has been effective in reaching seekers. While 80% of church growth in the U.S. is transfer growth, God has blessed us in attracting unchurched people to the life changing Gospel of Christ.
Today we honor the momentum of the past and celebrate a dynamic future together. God wants to bust through ceilings and break down walls! God is on the move, and He wants us to move with Him. His passion is to expand the Kingdom and transform lives. God has led us to believe that an inviting, full-time facility is a critical tool in realizing this God-glorifying passion. We believe God will expand His Kingdom through our move to a permanent home in three main ways.
GREATER VISIBILITY
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world… Don’t hide your light under a basket! Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all” (Matthew 5:14-15 NLT). The wonderful things God has been doing at Evergreen-Bloomington have been hidden in a school building. Many more people will discover a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ simply through our long-term, visible presence in the community.
GREATER STABILITY
A permanent home sends a strong message to our church family and our community: ‘We are here for good—for this generation and generations to come!’ A permanent facility allows us to provide a lasting home for new and growing Christians—and offers a stable environment for us to meet the needs of those yet to come to faith in Christ.
GREATER ABILITY
The Great Commission calls for the mobilization of human and material resources to spread the Gospel to the entire world. A full-time facility will become a base for creative local outreach as well as developing workers for future church plants in the years to come.
