Trinity River Ridge School Building

Trinity River Ridge School is located at 2300 East 88th Street in Bloomington. The site is one block east of Old Shakopee Road and about six blocks south of the Mall of America. Access to the site from Bloomington and Burnsville can be via Cedar Avenue/Killebrew Drive or by the Old Shakopee Road exits. It is about 4.5 miles from our current Oak Grove site.

The site is a 7.53 acre parcel located adjacent to a 2.17 acre “City Park” parcel owned by the City of Bloomington. Existing parking is 316 spaces. The Trinity School property is approximately 60,000 square feet and can adequately accommodate our Phase I needs. The site lies within a residential neighborhood. The property is bounded by residences to the west, the City Park to the south (with residences beyond). Cypress Semiconductor industry is to the east and to the north there are soon to be vacated residential properties.

FACILITY TOURS

You certainly are encouraged to go take a look at the site. However, please do not go into the building. The building is a private school and People of Praise cannot have strangers wandering around the building. Please be respectful of this and do not go into the building. Take a photo tour of the property.

MOVING PLANS

Evergreen-Bloomington owns the building and is leasing it to People of Praise, owners of Trinity School. People of Praise is building a new school facility in Eagan. Our move into the facility will occur once People of Praise has completed construction of their new facility and is able to move and once we have completed necessary building remodeling and renovations. The spring or summer of 2008 is the best estimate we have at this time. As moving dates and plans are determined this web page will be updated with additional information.

REMODELING/RENOVATION PLANS

Careful planning is currently underway with the architectural firm Miller Dunwiddie to determine how to best fit our current ministry program needs into the Trinity School property. Obviously the Trinity School property and our ministry needs are not a perfect match; renovation and remodeling will be required. Actual implementation of our remodeling and renovation plans will depend upon the money God provides. As those plans are finalized this web page will be updated with additional information.

WHY THIS BUILDING?

This facility has the “fingerprints” of God all over it. This facility is a miracle. First, finding usable, affordable property in a fully developed suburb – Bloomington – is a miracle. We looked and looked for a site for 2 ½ years in Bloomington and our options were not looking at all promising until God revealed this facility. Not only have we found a facility in Bloomington it is only 4.5 miles from our current location at Oak Grove Middle School. And it is located off Highway 77 in the fastest growing area of Bloomington; high-density house in being developed around the Mall of America that will bring thousands of new addresses to East Bloomington.

Second, the facility is the right size – another miracle. Based upon a space programming document completed by Miller Dunwiddie, our architectural firm, it was determined that approximately 65,000 square feet would meet our initial Phase I needs. The Trinity School adequately meets our Phase I needs. When Phase II expansion becomes a necessity, depending upon city approvals, we may expand the existing first level or construct a second level. Third, the facility was a good price – yet another miracle. We believe God wants us to use our money faithfully. If we were to buy land and build a 60,000 square foot building, the estimated cost of construction – not including the cost of land – would be $9 million. The purchase price for Trinity was $5.25 million. We believe purchasing this building reflects good stewardship.
